If you had a choice of one.....
If you had a chance to bring back any station from as fare back as the 90s who would it be??
Or if the is a difficult choice for some people, what weekly show would you like to hear make a return?
Upfront FM would be the station for me, and if I had to choose one show it would have to be the Grimey Limeys Sunday night 8-10 on raw flex around 2005.

Defo Vibe FM East was my best ever station used to listen to this all the time to.
And the DJs were fun to unlike what kiss is now.
Pirate I really don't know I would say Premier 88.6 as you don't here so much trance.

Either Jazz FM, or Country 1035 AM - neither were pirates though. If I had to state a pirate, then I would say Itch FM.

Agreed. I've always said Itch was one of the best yet most underrated. When most other pirates were saturated with UKG & Grime around the 2000's they were championing something entirely different to any other station at the time & they did it very well! Pushed out a nice signal on 105.15 too.Dai Pole wrote:If I had to state a pirate, then I would say Itch FM.

@technics yeah, pulse 90.6 was good station, but for me it would have to be weekend rush and defection. And they were pretty much the same station anyway.

Another one I'm gonna say is Dream 107.6, now I know Happy Hardcore is absolutely shit and people like Fuze listen to it but they were very good for their day. One of the most popular London pirates of all time in my opinion and HH aside there was a good variety of shows on there.

Re: If you had a choice of one.....
Essence. Its all we ever had down this way it played everything from dnb, jungle, happy hardcore, trance, house, garage, old skool hardcore and they even had a hip hop and leftfield beats show, shame the station gave up. I'd like to have been in London to listen to all the pirates but I'd only get them if there was a lift. I'd like to have been able to listen early Kool FM circa 92-94, Girls FM, Addiction FM, Itch FM, Don, Rinse (early days 94) them London stations I listed are from recordings people put up on the net otherwise I'd never have heard the sets/DJ's.

Remember they were fundraising for studio gear on one of those "crowd funding" sites a while back. I don't think they'll be coming back on the FM dial unfortunately.Optimus Prime wrote:Just found this!!! - http://www.itch.fm

Yes that's right, I do remember seeing that. I usually have my Samsung running Yourmuze or my Mac running iTunes connected to my system indoors for radio listening these days, so personally I'll take online only all day. Glad to see them back, hopefully the quality will be the same as it was beforeDai Pole wrote:Remember they were fundraising for studio gear on one of those "crowd funding" sites a while back.
