A station who I listen to occasionally, and were playing some good tracks seemed to be raided yesterday early evening and I do wonder if activity reports on here can and does lead to that? Is it a bad idea to announce what frequency and where you are ? I imagine it is a double edged sword. Stations might appreciate a few new listeners but not getting raided a few weeks later..
This one has been on about a year solid. Any opinions on it? I do try and be a bit cautious about where these days, as there are so few pirates on I want them to last as long as possible when they do pop up, and have stopped mentioning frequencies publicly everyone has a radio on here to tune about.
I don;t listen that much but it sure is better than having none and hearing endless pop.

‘announcing the greatest dj for one night only’ maybe something from a boxing match
remember when the internet first came along I would search for frequencies of low power transmissions, found some station i’ve never even heard of.
Part of the excitement, maybe opers want to be heard they’ll maybe go ripping the lead out the wall, using the lead as a skipping rope, its up to the operator they can switch off, move frequencies, move to another area were noone is there talking about it, maybe spoils a chance of them building an audience, hard to move to another area. the moment their heard they might have to shout macbeth 3 times, throw stalt over the shoulder

Including OFCOM (and likely better radio's than you or I)
At the end of the day there really isn't any information on here that OFCOM couldn't find out themselves by switching on a radio and tuning around especially in this day and age when they have access to a network of remote SDR's around the country.
On the other hand putting information about stations is a useful resource for anoraks especially those who like out in the sticks and are maybe travelling to somewhere like London for a day and want to have some idea what they can hear if they take a radio with them.

there was a video of one outside manchester, I always thought these things were kind of a myth until that point, it closed down in 2019, what they use now who knows.
They did consider pirate radio a problem in some cities, likely had stuff monitoring, they could likely dial up and listen else were. Monitoring the airwaves was considered important things like the g7(whatever number it was) summit, suppose secruity issue around these types of things make sure that noone is planning anything, so they’ve got stuff sniffing the spectrum, nothing to do with pirate radio.
I suppose the whole paranoida of something been there scanning the bands would likely keep people off the air. I once saw something set up behide a van on pole, round oval thing on top speculation don’t know what it could be for.
