Had a scan, not in Manchester but close by and can't hear anything on any of the obvious frequencies. Nothing at all on 100.8 right now either.

Re: WK-END Manny
That's got to be from a legal station for them to come that fast

I don't quite get it though. The whole point of stations like 100.8 is that they are filling a gap that's not catered for. In terms of the genres covered, a couple of the FM "community" stations round here might occasionally come close but it's hardly serious competition for the rest of their output. Can't imagine them complaining about a pirate either - gotta remember where you come from in the first place surely?

Oh, you'd be surpised how often they grass on pirates.
7 Waves was a local Restricted Service Licenced radio station which later gained a Community Radio licence and was later renamed as Wirral Radio.
Sometimes karma takes its time but this is how their luxury studio suite paid for by local council grants looks today.
The reason I'm talking about karma is that this station was a regular snitch to the authorities about local pirate radio stations. They got me raided in 2005 for supposedly 'stealing their listeners' even though I was halfway up the dial from them and I wasn't playing the pop music they were.

Re: WK-END Manny
I understand your point Steve and I know the first place many pirates go looking for a grass is "community" legals, even if there's no real competition on the basis of output or listener demographic. Some of them seem to be quite bitter. I'd be disappointed if either of the stations I was thinking of earlier have reported 100.8 though.
Unfortunately karma is taking an awfully long time in Manchester. The stations referred to above are doing OK, but we also have an embarrassment of licencees with zero listeners which somehow are still on air after many years and need removing.
