Re: London FM Pirates Scan
You got a few things wrong on your scan flex 101.4 is a licenced station now and there's no flex on 99.7 now as a legal that was the old pirate frequency and venture is not on 99.1 and you missed lightning 90.8 FM

I think station fm has finally finished with FM and I have not heard them for well over a year and should be removed from the list

Re: London FM Pirates Scan
I have noticed there is still a very big problem with your receiver.
There is a strong noise floor of around 20dB+ or so which is completely wiping out everything weaker than it.
.....So As for being "DX London", well any kind of DX reception is totally out of the question.
....If it's being caused by something in your home you need to turn off each piece of equipment around you until you work out what's causing it. (Usually LED lights or cheap power supplies, hopefully it's not being caused by the computer running it!)
I hope you can get this resolved as there are stations which you can get on a normal standard radio in South London which are completely non-existant on your "DX" tuner because of this.

Powerline adaptors are a prime example of the noise. Also chargers, computers, set top boxes

With a small dipole, I've actually gotten stations from Russia, Italy and Romania through Es. But as soon as I turn something on like my dryer or something that makes alot of interference, nothing comes through. Try using audio filters and a better antenna.

Re: London FM Pirates Scan
It could be because it is right next to the outdoor Wifi antenna. I will have a look at it once I get my West London server online. It is receiving most of the London Stations that is the main objective, but I agree there is plenty of room to improve.teckniqs wrote: ↑Sun Jun 29, 2025 12:24 pmI have noticed there is still a very big problem with your receiver.

Re: London FM Pirates Scan
I hope you can resolve it and achive the main objective. The west London one is also like it by the way (not quite as bad though)
As I said you need to turn off each piece of equipment (at the main plug socket) one by one in every room until the 20dB signal level of noise on a clear frequency goes down to around 0-5dB or so which is normal and will pull in MANY more stations (and maybe even be good for DX!)
