super tropo

Post by radionortheast » Mon Jun 06, 2016 9:47 am

since sunday i’ve been hearing stations from neatherlands this morning too, coming in clear and strong enough to say if you where just outside the service area of a transmitter would interfere.

They on every frequency all way from the bottom of the band to the top, some of them like radio 538 play dance, another on 95.2, this kind of event only happens once a year or every two years so enjoy if you can, unless of course it is effecting your signal.

Haha yeah it's certainly that time of year. I've had loads going on the last few days. Last night I had a fair few London pirates I've never heard before!

Here in North London, I could get several Dutch, German, Belgian and French stations. The band was absolutely full at about 8.30 this evening!
"Why is my rig humming?"
"Because it doesn't know the words!"

It's been going the other way too, like I said in the ramadan thread. RSLs from Bristol and Swindon heard in Finland.
