Why does it keep going on and off every couple of minutes?

Is it buffering like a web stream?

Think it might be a linking problem, when it cuts out the rds light goes off my tuner then comes back when it cuts in again. Carrier signal never drops.

I noticed it was completely off last weekend, heard they've to a different area.

...Maybe having problems linking to new location?

Its not a linking problem. when it cuts off BBC is coming through so I would say the power is dropping out and this has been like it since they came back on air.

I was not getting that yesterday, the station carrier was 40db on my tuner, when it was cutting out it was still 40db (no dips). The only thing that changed was the rds dissapearing when they cut out...

Got them on now, hasn't cut out yet so maybe they been working on it.

They been on the new site a while now, it would do really well if the clowns on 99.8 called it a day..

Yeah I've noticed around many parts of east London Kiss 100 get badly affected too and they're twice as far away from 99.8 than flex.

That station on 99.8 is completely pointless! How they've got away with fucking with Kiss 100 in certain parts of East for so many years has always left me with a visible question mark above my head.....

As for Flex's technical issue, I'm sure that will be sorted at some point in the very near future - if it hasn't already!

The station on 99.8 happens to be the first station to call it self supreme and it started in 1989 closed down in 1991 some of the DJs went on to form station fm supreme came back in 2000 on 99.8 fm and have been there ever since they are not going anywhere they had 998 before flex even came back on after their 10 year break

I am fully aware of who was where first mate, I've been playing on pirate radio on & off for about 16 years now and I was the first live DJ on Flex when it came back on in 2009 after their break off air so I really don't care for any history lessons, especially regarding a station I've stated as pointless (in my humble opinion) and to be honest I'd rather take the time to hear about the history of a station that I actually do like! I didn't say what I said in the hope that the guys behind 99.8 will see my post & suddenly call it a day so Flex could go fully Londonwide (I know that would never happen! It is what it is!), I was simply saying that I couldn't understand how they've got away with blatantly fucking with a major legal's signal (albeit an absolute dog shot legal) inside their designated broadcast area (East London) for so long which has been factual information for many years now and is probably still happening as I type this! But hey, I now know about Supreme's history, so thanks for that! It's certainly not gonna make me lock into them, If I wanted to hear what they played I'd tune into Vibes or Concious (much better stations in my opinion) or rack my brains via YouTube.

Point taken I think if LBC or classic fm was on 100 fm there would have far more action taken and I know you don't like supreme now what do you think of station fm?

Fair enough. I make you right there! Station is OK and serves a purpose I guess, I don't listen to them myself these days as I have my preferred stations for that type of vibe. I know they've been around for donkeys years as my dad used to listen to them in the early 90's when I was very young (their signal used to get into South London pretty well in those days), so for longevity they definitely get fully deserved props. If my memory serves me correct you could hear some decent Rare Groove on a Sunday back in the day?

If I had to choose between Station & Supreme as a listen now I'd pick Station every time.

I picked up flex in 1992 when they first started on 93.2 they had to leave 93.2 when the BBC added 93.2 for R4 in 1994 then for quite a few years they had the super clear 103.6 for the rest of their time on air before the many years they were off also very clear today in Windsor

93.2, are you sure? Format FM were on 93.2 around very early 1993 when I first heard them...

I can categorically say she wasn't exaggerating. I was there around those times! Real struggles! On/off more times than the bathroom light switch of an OAP with bladder problems!! Most would've called it a day being hit so many times & so hard I'm sure. Props to management.
