They started trying to find a site in 1922, interesting it talked about in ww2 it would of been a target, suffered a lot of interference from transmitters in other countries later on, there were no agreements, nothing could be done, does make you think vhf should of been started sooner. The timeline is quite interesting too, radio 3 switched off in 1992, radio 1 in 1994, Am did last a long time, does seem the main way people got their radio even into the 80’s.
