After following Albert's comments on Optimod processors, I've moved to have a look at some good software based processors. I wanted to ask if anyone has a nice present that resembles an Omnia11, I know that BaO was meant to replicate the audio of the Omnia 9, But has anyone attempted to make something like that. Or something that just sounds really great in your lots opinions. Then if i like the processor, I am going to build myself a nice Rackmount PC with the cases on AliExpress that have screens on the front...
Not to get ahead of myself, I want to test the quality of the audio first and foremost. Heard a lot of good things about BaO, I hope it lives up to its name and holds the quality its been described to have.. Thanks Lads!

Finally. Breakaway is the daddy. LDC use it, although since their tx processing PC shit it's pants last year and my mate who initially configured it left the company ages ago so whoever is taking care of it now has got it sounding like shit and in mono.
I've got some good custom presets, Frequency FM used it for years and my LDC guy was the Frequency audio man back in the day.
One rule with multi band processing, LESS IS MORE.
find the default preset you like the sound of most, then begin to experiment with the various modes and options to get a good feeling of the user interface.

You need to strike a balance so that it sounds reasonably loud without losing much detail in the sound image. Things get even more complicated if you use different genres and production decades in a program. Another thing, what sounds good on reference monitors usually doesn't sound good on an average portable receiver or car audio system. And that's also where a compromise needs to be found. I once embarked on a tweaking adventure that lasted 20 working hours in a simulated chain with different sound material and scenarios, listening on 3 different systems. That preset still works today, 5 years later, on a regional network for which it was intended without modifications. Today, I certainly wouldn't have the patience for such detailed adjustments. Regarding BAO, if you don't have time to start from scratch, the best advice has already been given. Choose the most acceptable "factory" preset for your ears and make modifications. With this software, you can get a very pleasant and competitive sound.

Basically don't crunch everything to death. Let the music breathe.

Understood, One of my mates gave me a preset, sounded awful. I’ve been working on a preset for a few days now, Switching between listening on my DT770’s, Yamaha HS5’s and in the car, i’m sure i’ve got it as good as i can at the moment. If anyone wants to have a listen it’s a temporary stream going to run for a few more days then i’m going to patch this processor on-air. If anyone has any recommendations based on the sound please do let me know.
Run the stream in any mainstream software, I use VLC

The material playing is what the station usually plays.
Thanks again lads.

Good job! Nice transparent sound. Personally I would slightly emphasize the high end (keep in mind that the average listener has headphones/speakers with a roll off curve in the treble range). I would also slightly expand the stereo image. Also, as far as I can hear, quiet part of sound the noise reduction completely eat. Adjust it to be less aggressive.

Mikroman, Thanks for the comments. I did also try to emphasise the high end, But i found that in the car when listening to the stream it was a bit too sharp, I wouldn’t have wanted to listen to it for a long time.. I have had a look at the noise reduction and made it less aggressive, The stereo expander was disabled when i was doing listening tests, I have now enabled it, sounds quite good in my opinion. It’s crazy how a software processor has become better sounding than a dedicated hardware unit! Absolutely blown me away. BaO is next level! If it only had a de-clipper, it would be the best software based processor imo.

Leif has done a great job and offered it to the budget-conscious market. You probably know that omnia7 and 9 are based on his solutions.
Declipper and several other advanced tools are also found in his work Omnia Enterprise. It can also be purchased as software but directly from Telos.

Ahh right, Even without a de-clipper this is a crazy processor. Its taking audio like a king, Very very low distortion and clear sound. Just need to make sure the system its running on is reliable.. Then its perfect! I'm thinking of building it into one of them rackmount PC cases from AliExpress that have a built in touchscreen on the front. And fix some XLR Sockets somewhere on the back-side of the case, A little project that will keep me busy lol
