Albumheads 107.3 FM

Found a pirate I'd never heard of before last night on a Remote Online Radio Tuner situated in Reading, Berkshire which I thought sounded like a legit legal station due to the style of presentation, style of music and professional sounding audio quality.
The name ALBUMHDS came up on the RDS but signal is quite noisy and a bit weak.
...Never heard of this before does anyone know what area this comes from or have any more information about it?

Nice find. I've been listening to the stream this morning - I like this format! (no surprise there, eh?)
Skimmed through the website and there does seem to be something of a Surrey / Berkshire flavour. Actually I was half expecting to see some familiar names of this parish

I have checked the Reading tuner a few times over the last few days and it's not been on, just checked again now (13:21 02/11/2024) and I'm not getting anything. If it's back on it's either moved to a different TX location or running less power.

I joined their FB group and I think you're probably right it as looks like it's around the Hampshire/Berkshire/Surrey border somewhere, I can only presume.

It's definitely back on the Reading tuner.
When you listen make sure it's on the vertical.
The beam / horizontal is pointing away from them and nulling out completely.

I didn't even know you could change antennas. OK will give this a try. Thanks

Heard it on there again a few days ago and the signal seemed a lot stronger peaking over 40dB when it was only around 25dB before, well if that was them anyway because I didn't have time to listen long enough to find out.
.....Nothing on there now apart from a weak Wallingford Radio, so looks like that comes through over there when it's off.

I do hope we are not getting someone with a little Chinese rig in trouble. You do get the impression it is someone relaying it in their house. Awful signal most of the time and another station cutting in occasionally.

I was at first getting it on there with a better signal carrying RDS as shown above and in Mono, to me that suggests it's not just a cheap Chinese rig.
...I actually reckon these guys probably have more than half a clue what they're doing but probably are just running something low power from a house or tree in someone's garden or something and are probably doing very well to be heard on that tuner from where ever they're coming from on the power they're using. I have no idea though and just guessing, but good luck to them!
