I didn't realize the dti had a listening station in Surrey. Is it still there?
Also the guy that was called "Rebel", is that the same guy I am thinking from N.W (albeit with more hair )?

The guys on the boat are the most crazy, their own version of an offshore station, seemed abit dillusional, in the year 2000 to say offshore radio was more important than land based radio, seemed a stretch. I could watch Flare fm all day, loud buzzing and smashing roof tiles and running away, I was going to watch Ideal again there was some pirate radio, this was much better.

Yeah he recorded a lot of London stations from out in Southend on Sea back in the late 80s / early 90s. A lot of them are on the Pirate Archive.
