Re: Not pirate but new legal LW station
Assuming the whole thing is not a joke/hoax anyone seriously contemplating starting a longwave service with any serious amount of power in 2024 is embarking on a brave venture.

I hope that they get their transmitter and start broadcasting. 1kW from north isnt much, but that someone even try, is amazing.

station update, he is a dxer himself, wanted to move frequencies,
must be more relaxed over there, he's only able to broadcast weekends at the moment but wants it be a full service, maybe have an fm relay

Re: Not pirate but new legal LW station
I guess it would be a similar arrangement to 208 in Denmark and even Caroline, European countries still have their LF/MF allocations so even if the PSBs and big commercials no longer want to use them its not a big issue for the Communications Ministry to license the frequency to a community or hobby broadcaster using lower power (I don't think there's much chance of any station on LF/MF becoming that large or being a commercial success compared to 40 years ago)

I've used this site for LW/MW and SW frequencies (it contains both licensed stations and pirates)

The signal won’t reach over here, but good luck to him, remember years ago making one of those sstrans kits, tuning to on an old hifi reciever vlf display, on his video he was tuning to it one one reminded me of it. Making announcements with text to speech, it did sound like a radio station went round the house..really bassy throught speakers sounding like something from forbidden planet.

Just checked and it's still a no go,is it really that hard to source a 1kw AM transmitter, couldn't they use something designed for amateurs?

I read some were that laser 558 was involved, trying to do a similar thing like Caroline has done on mw on longwave I could be wrong, maybe need a more powerful transmitter I suspect, I suppose these are rumours, theres problems with the frequency with Algeria been on it.
