Just clocked that Croydon FM are now broadcasting on 99.4 according to their website. Don't know why they would need 2 dials in that part of London?

So I take it this means Digital Soul & Venture FM will have to now move to new homes? Always been a congested part of the dial around the 99's in London.

That's the first time I have known one of these community stations getting 2 frequencies I thought 97.8 was enough and a frequency that will displace 2 pirates also with just one frequency maybe venture will try 99.6 and I don't think it will be easy for digital soul to find a new one either I can't see 99.2 would be any good?

Yes I am getting "Croydon" on 99.4fm and Venture are on 99.6fm now. No sign of Digital Soul...

Thank you I am not in the area now but nice to see I was right about one of them and 99.6 is not as clear and I would not be surprised if digital soul doesn't find a new frequency and decides to stay online only

Its quite a common thing, community station say so many 1,000’s of people in a given area can’t hear them, so they will either get a power increase or a relay, it doesn’t mean all those 1,000’s of people will tuned to it unlikely, a way to justify the means, we have loads up here, its become a bit of a joke, I don’t think anyones listening to them on fm other if they have involvement in the stations. I suppose fm is no longer important to commercial radio stations, they're allowed to do what they want, their flushing money down the toilet, I suppose its their money. I don't mean to bash them, just my opinion..

Croydon have moved off the Crystal Palace tower so most likely needed a filler for Croydon Town. Crystal ball says digital soul will most likely move down to 99.2

That would explain why I have not picked up the 97.8 signal on the westside for a long time now

I am still away at the moment is digital souls reception as good as it was before ?

I have come back to Windsor for the first time in a while and digital soul is getting out about as well on 99.2 as when it was on 99.3 and Croydon fm on 99.4 is booming over here stronger than when select had 99.3/4 as a long time ago they used both

I forgot to say more difference for the venture fm signal on 99.6 that is definitely worse than 99.5

Digital Soul is not too clever on 99.2 in south.

Biggest difference is venture moving just 1 point from 99.5 to 99.6 I could not get it until past Sunbury on Thames but on 99.5 I could sometimes get it in Windsor it was just radio 1 until nearly Kingston on my way there last night
