Seems MW will be completely empty soon, cannot find much about Luka it might be a German station running only 50W but I cannot confirm it. Might be Dutch it is a bit difficult to work out as they speak to each other and they might mention other stations so you get confused.

https://radiotoday.co.uk/2023/06/global ... nsmitters/

I mainly hear Asian stations and a lot Spanish stations after dark in the main. I am hoping to stumble on an in bad pirate
maybe a UK one at some time.

They bump up at sunset then drop down again, I guess sun has not even set yet to need to give it a chance. 1644 coming in with Dutch oldies, they are very close to each other as well.

1605 drifts from there to 1612 or decides to move sounded like a french voice doubt anything legal could be on 1612. Unless something weird happens at the edge of the broadcast band into the outside of that band.

1630 peaking S6 briefly so they can get pretty strong at times. 1655 not far behind. after a while if Dutch music is not your thing it can become a bit difficult to listen to. Some play pop and rock. I am not sure I will be doing it every weekend just wanted to have a go.

Was good to check them out I shall leave the antenna where it is, it is no bother sitting where it is and I can listen at will. Not something for every weekend I suspect but good to have it setup.

In our little bit of the Benelux, there are loads of legal low power AM stations. Most of them are just doing it for a bit of fun, but some of them have pretty good programming. Occasionally, some of the legal stations fire up bigger rigs, and I've heard a few of the "1 Watt" stations in the eastern UK!

It appears that there's little or no enforcement of AM pirates in the UK (as long as you don't cause gross interference), so it might be time for a few "Tower Block Sloper" aerials and some simple and cheap FET-based rigs!

The antennas are so big that most people find them a massive hassle so that puts people off. Any freqs on the Benelux stations Albert I will keep an ear open for them. I think you are looking at about 85m of wire and most people won't know how to match them or feed them properly. Few to none have a tower block at their disposal.

Different ball game. I like a listen though. Not sure if that long in the tooth radio / madham 74 was UK based or just English programme being sent from elsewhere. At least there is a bit of mystery about it... and you don;t know what you will hear or when cause they are off and on all the time.

what I meant albert was if you have the freqiencies for them.. I will listen out for them.. quite hard to stumble on them as you don;t know where a station on MW is from or if they are legal.
