You can hear some of them via ground wave on here without a suitable MW tuner. It is not quite
the same as picking them on actual radio waves though. But if you do not have a radio, quite useful.

1642 and 1630 come in well

There are not that many on so far. Radio Augusta... 1612 announced

That'll do for this evening, worth a check every now and then.

Today someone playing Village People on 1611-1616 KHz English speaking professional sounding. Said Solid Gold Jukebox. A conversation in English on 1647-1656 apparently BBC4????
Another English speaking but this probably Dutch on 1638. And a Greek speaking on 1701, where from a different direction Spanish was coming.

There are quite a few on right now, the solar flux is pretty high at the moment and despite a coronal mass ejection it seems their signals are quite well boosted. Also at sunset time they pick up a bit. I can pick at least 4 up on a portable radio and they come in pretty clear and strong.

I am getting 1623 1628 1647 1655

1655 is inspired by Radio10Guld playlist I think, playing this now. Fairly sure that was a R10Guld classic. Quite sentimental bunch the Dutch. :tup 3 stations coming in strong on a little ferrite rod this evening.

Totally booming in tonight. Loads of them on and with big signals on just a ferrite rod portable. Give them a go !
You don't need a big antenna at all. I can hear 6 with internal ferrite rod.

Will give these a go on the small Sony ICF 7600 indoors, come 8pm sun goes down so MW pirates will start being back in the UK
of an early evening. I will see what I can hear.

Heard Fancy - Bolero a few weeks ago on one, 8-) I know about this from youtube songs I found on there listen to about 5 years ago before I moved, maybe looking for a bit of Mel and Kim, a lot of them where from the 80's i've never heard them anywhere, apart from now on these dutch stations, don't know the style of music but do think its very good.

the style of music is Eurodisco, very popular on Dutch pirates (and to a lesser extent in nightclubs/discos in UK, until the rave scene took over)

Have some 1657 coming in this evening low and in and out playing Lazy Sunday afternoon, no time to worry... song, a fun song. Just on the ferrite rod of the Sony indoors. Slightly lower than the hiss much of the time but then comes up a bit to the same volume as local / static noise floor . Just now bumped up and sounded like a local station for a short period.

RADIO ALABAMA - Good station, nice music selection English sung classic rock and pop etc a good station. Announcements in Dutch... listening now and clear coming in very nice and quite consistent at the moment. I think it could be a very good winter for the Dutch pirates as solar maximum starts.

cool alex with music info :tup

1630 coming in nice and strong tonight on a ferrite rod sony transistor radio indoors. 'riding along on a carousel will I catch up with you?' song. Amazing how well they come in even on a indoors decent radio with no external antenna !

Maybe alabama on a different freq choice.
