When I try to tune in to 99.7 in the car the RDS immediately retunes to the silence on 106.5!

TBH, this station has been having a nightmare for over 6 months... who is the engineer? :whistle :whistle

Its been constantly over modulating well over 75khz on 106.5/99.7. Seems to happen the most when the tune breaks down and plays an atmospheric part (without a beat). Almost like the processor AGC goes through the roof and starts distorting the audio terribly. I have also noticed my tuner's lcd "glitching" when the wet "farty" bassline drops!

For a number of previous months, the signal bars kept strangely dropping out repeated every 10 seconds. I read something at that time (on here) that it was "temp protection". Very strange as its been raining all summer and not even hot lol

The new issue is (as Sproggy says), if you are listening in a car (tuned to 99.7) listening in fringe reception areas, the tuner automatically retunes to 106.5. Doesn't the engineer know that using the same PI codes for two different freq (especially when one is a blank carrier) is not the best idea? :whistle

Its a shame really cos some of the dj's are quite good. I hope they can improve it?!

If you were someone credible from this site we'd be upset! But you're not. So we're not going to even entertain you. :rip

I had the same issue a few days ago when travelling from West London across town to Bermondsey. This was because the broadcaster was using the same RDS PI on both frequencies. This set up would have worked well if both signals were carrying the same audio output, but failed to work as intended as one was silent at the time I was on the move.

I personally think it’s a good signal and always sounds good when it’s on and always crystal clear in and around Romford

It is a point well made about the PI code. They would be better off changing it until they've fixed the silence issue
