Good choice 1512KHz.

Need an SDR. Are any of these Kiwi's nearby? http://rx.linkfanel.net

I just heard Drum & Bass with MCing. On an AM station, this is quite something. Big shout to Bert and Margaret skanking out

I heard Drum & Bass too, there's been a mixture of dance music over the past half hour. Not a very strong signal into that SDR this evening, was bit better last night.

DJ / Presenters voice sounds familiar.

I think it's a previously aired live show / recording being re-transmitted.

I have heard repeats of links and some are featured on this Dx'ers You Tube Video, from 4 days ago.

Most of the (not very many) medium wave pirates of recent years have been rock or oldie stations so Blackbeard is unusual in that respect. But there are plenty of AM dx-ers out there and this was quickly picked up by the logging sites. I think they've had reports from Belgium and further afield. I seem to remember one of the London stations in the late 80's trying it out on about 1404 kHz if my memory serves me correctly, just to avoid the clogged up FM band. It didn't last very long. I'd have to dig out my old Anoraks UK weekly report sheets to find out.

There was definitely a station in London on 1611 kHz in the late 90s. I remember hearing them in south west London but never managed to catch an ID.

Sounds like Dave Norris who used to run Buzz FM in Nottingham as part of the Free Radio Network in the early 90's I think

In the mid-90s there were several stations that used to appear on 819kHz from time to time. There was also "Argus" on 1125kHz in South-East London, and "Pipeline" also in South-East London.

I tried to hear this on our car radio during the day, couldn’t hear anything, maybe its not on during the day? it would of be nice to have a station playing dance that could be tuned to. I did often hear it back at home on an evening, you could hear every song that was been played it would fade up and down a lot, easy to listen over on radio garden, sounded a bit like a dance zone cd with other songs put between, the banter made me a bit unsure about it. I can't seen anyone else doing this, he must have a place to put a long wire, like a towerblock, I suppose he's maybe reaching more people scattered across the country who would like to listen, if you set up an fm transmitter it wouldn't reach that many people.
