I was going through tunein today and so many stations have left including visionuk playback rinse and supreme 99.8 to mention just a few? It looks like Simple radio is the best way now

There is a dj on house fm who keeps saying shout outs to the people tuned in via tunein and he hasn't even noticed it's not there anymore

It shouldn't be but I can only guess they haven't sent their proof of being a licenced station into tunein yet

I see so you are saying they won't let pirates on? House isn't a pirate now also but they are cut off also and I am pretty sure they have finished with illegal broadcasting

They have no way of knowing who is an FM pirate and who isn't so they are making stations send all their documents to prove they are licenced to broadcast. There looks like there's a lot more to being on TuneIn these days like having to log every record played and making sure royalties are being paid.

R.I.P Tunein you floppy snowflake c***ts.

...What will be the next big online radioplayer to replace it?

I have moved to simple radio and it's easier to arrange the stations in my preferred order

It's nothing to do with them being pirate or not. It's due to a court case from the music industry.

Basically all UK stations were given a few days to prove that they paid racketeer fees to PRS/PPL or were blocked from the directory - whether they were licensed or not.

The only good thing to come out of this is I installed the Audials app and discovered it is much better than TuneIn. I drive around the UK through the night for work, a decent app saves me from going to each stations stream individually or even worse - Radio 2.

If you want to run an online station without paying the PRS/PPL extortion, just host your station in a country that doesn't insist on those fees. My stations are hosted in Switzerland and Singapore - both countries with very good connectivity and no links to the racketeers.

PRS and PPL claim that they're collecting "performing rights" fees to pay to the artists. This (mostly) isn't true. Like most "charities", they only exist to support themselves. (Take a look at Oxfam for example - about 2% of all they collect ends up doing their "good works" - the rest is used to pay for their staff, premises and "expenses"). My musician friends tell me that they actually LIKE having their music played on "pirate" and on-line stations - it's all exposure of their work, so they'll get more sales off the back of that.

Thanks for the update house were briefly on 90.2 last year after pointblank went legal on dab then weekend rush used it and I thought another station was on it with a silent carrier I doubt if house will stay long this time either since about 2017 when they were still on 103.3 they never seem to have a long run

Think they may stand a good chance on 90.2 fm for the future. Just a feeling. Also I noticed origin are also back on 100.3 . Could be a revival if all the great stations in London. It’s good to have hope lol

Livefmuk is still on tunein and I think it actually matches the 87.5 FM stream as the other simple radio doesn't so there are 2 different streams at least going
