Haha don't be silly, you wouldn't see me dead (and buried) picking up any DAB radio anywhere. :tup

....My pal sent me that earlier, from Borehamwood.

OK but when I was in my old area 2 weeks ago all I found was 87.5 still the Same cd vision 884 and divine 95.1 plus a few of the regea stations so I am being to think fm is being vacanted quite quickly and as for 101.4 I did not even check

famefm wrote: Sun Jun 20, 2021 4:09 pm I am out of reach for any London station dab coverage now and I have noticed their tunein entry isn't working and has not for over a year I really like tunein it's much easier than having a separate app for each station and the pb app keeps cutting out I hope they re connect tunein soon
The tunein for PB is working https://tunein.com/radio/Point-Blank-FM-s105157/ you can also listen via http://pointblankradio.co.uk:9002/stream

It seems a lot of stations are feeling their time as a pirate has come to an end since all these DAB licences started getting thrown around like sweets and have decided they want to go down the legal route ......obviously they'd all prefer an FM licence but the DAB licence is the closest thing to it they are going to able to get! (it's by far much easier to get one for DAB) :tup

....I was quite surprised to hear PB were leaving the FM band to jump on the DAB Bandwagon and go for a licence, but as you know the original 1994 founder of PB put his ex-pirate Release Radio on to DAB and things seem to be going well for them from what I understand.

So was I pb had probably the best luck of all the pirate fm stations on 90.2 it was like my local pirate and always on So definitely was a surprise and our friend who started it didn't have an fm outlet when his station went to dab but they are so much better than flex that has an fm license

I have been listening since the dab launch yesterday and it's very low key you would hardly know until the djs say dab about every 5th record it's not changed a bit so if going dab means little to no change it has to be better than a community fm license after the way flex changed for the worse

I'm no expert when it comes to licences for a good reason, but as far as i'm aware there are a lot less restrictions when it comes to DAB broadcasting.

I agree but why is it different if the fm ex pirates had been able to do the same themselves they might have been popular still rather than anti climax every single time since 1990

Couldn't resist posting this - from 15 years ago no less! Such a shame they won't be able to use this package on DAB...

I'm a pirate radio fan from The Netherlands, and I often listen to Point Blank on internet. I thinks it's one of the best radiostations from London. It's a pity that they've switched to a legal status radiostation now, but I hope the station stays as it was.

It will as DAB restrictions are nil here, except obvious ones (like swearing) any long-lasting pirate station would abide by anyway to avoid heat

PB has been very very good since the DAB broadcast. We all miss the pirate days.....Release Radio is another pirate and now uses DAB also. Much better signal and gets out all over most of the South east. :whistle

Pointblank has stayed exactly the same as it was on the FM dial

Unity were on DAB and had a very good signal right over to Hampshire. it soon stopped and is now London only now I think. Centreforce Radio has the strongest signal they go up north also on DAB

yep I stumbled across the test signal one early morning driving from Basingstoke in hampshire to fleet. Release Radio were up and running before PB. I actually emailed PB and asked them are you coming on DAB?? :tup
