101.2 NRG LIVE

New arrival on 101.2:

NRG LIVE
website: nrglive.co.uk
(on air output matched with online output)

Pretty faint here in SE1, but audible over the static hiss. They're playing some excellent progressive house today.

Has Unique Radio ceased broadcasting on this frequency? I also note that I have not heard Naija FM on 101.1 in about a year. :whistle

I can hear this very weak in BN14 Worthing, West Sussex coast.

.....It's extremely faint at the back of the box but I can certainly hear House music right now.

I've not been able to pick them up down here at all for a while, but as far as I know they are still about.

....Maybe they are off at the moment, I've asked someone who lives in NW London to check 101.2

They're still on air today, although barely audible in Bermondsey, SE1, on my Roberts Vintage.

If they're also barely audible right down in Worthing, maybe they're based outside London, to the south, or maybe in Kent?

Audio still matches their web stream. They seem to specialise in progressive house mixes from what I've heard so far, no live DJS heard yet, but they have pre-recorded on air idents giving out their station name and website address.

I can't tell if they're transmitting any RDS as the signal is so poor here.

I think I've figured out where abouts it's coming from but I don't want to give it away.

....Let's just say it's probably a low powered low budget rig coming from high ground.

I like the output, shame it's not listenable here in SE1. 😞

At least there's the online stream. 😊

As i'm driving around south west london I'm getting two different stations on 101.2, one ragga and one house. Doubt the house station will win

I'm getting drum & bass, and grossly overmodulated at +/- 125kHz in SE13. Stereo, no RDS

125 is far beyond the 75k limit and that won't do their signal any favours. :whistle

.....What are you using to measure the deviation levels?

SDR spectrum analyser

OK nice, didn't realise you could measure the deviation with those little things, handy aren't they!

Yeah, great filtering too, adjustable bandwidth.. seen some interesting spurious out of a few stations too, cheap mobile analyser

Yeah those SDR's are completely unreliable when it comes to measuring spurious harmonics, they create their own!!

Yeah you can't take the readings too literally sometimes. But if you compare say a commercial signal to an 'unofficial' one, you're in the right area. Getting the RF gain setting right is key, they tend to overload a bit

I agree they have a front end wider than a barn door

I was also getting drum and bass at 12:20 this morning, in SE1, from NRG LIVE still.

I've never managed to pick up Unique Radio here, so I easily spotted the new arrival.

Can hear it a lot better today, still weak as hell but yesterday when I tried to send someone a video it was too hard to make it out and just sounded like hiss (typical phone speakers) but it's a lot more easy to hear it today and the audio can be heard on a video...
