Hi guys driving through Baguley tonight I picked up a station playing rap music on 87.5. It was mostly s0 but at the Tesco at Baguley it came storming in. I lost it then until sharston for a split second then gone.

Possibly a pirate in Wythenshawe?

Never heard anything urban/rap related on 87.5, just MAR which isn't on weekdays.

OK fair enough then, must have been something else like a car close by.

....I just thought it might be MAR as recently seen post saying they were picked up by Manc airport which is the same kind of area, but if you are certain they would never play rap on a weekday then it can't be that.

I don't think MAR has ever played anything post-1970 . I thought in-car too but then again I've seen unlicensed low-power transmissions go for a few miles without being reported as anything on the forums.

OP, you should also check out the Skywaves forum for pirate radio, there seems to be more northerners on there than here :tup http://skywavesdx.org/viewforum.php?f=112

Interesting, I also hear something when I go onto the slip road from the m56 onto m6, every time, which rules out a car transmitter, I heard for a brief time mar get taken over by an Asian station, could of,course just be a good location to pull in some distant stations, but I’m not aware of any local Asian rsl station on at the moment. Let us know if you hear any more stations, but if you can try driving back passed the same point to rule out car transmitters
