Stereo tool is the nuts when used properly and ya know how to use it, pukka bita kit !halfwave wrote:
Also I use Stereo Tool for a software Compressor/Limiter, which you can
use the WinAMP Plug-in which is available on their site, within RadioDJ and it makes a
massive difference to the audio. Note that some features need registration to
use without the addition of beeps and a message being played. But just using
the basic free features and tweaking to suit will help a lot.

FM Transmitter advice
It definitely won't be capable of producing an RDS signal because of the 96k sample rate. I use RME Audio sound cards, they work very well.rubber-man wrote:My soundcard is an M Audio 2496 which is a very nice soundcard, I used it in my main recording PC when I had a home music studio and it blows away any Soundblaster card or on-board rubbish.
Totally agree about Stereo Tool. Definitely worth looking into.

Well it's been a while but I have picked up a CZE 15A transmitter, Yeah yeah I know what some people say about them but for me it's working a treat and covers my town nicely. Im using a dipole in the attic fed with RG8 with a balun fitted and a 1.2 SWR. So far so good.

How many "images" of your signal can you hear around your nominal frequency?
"Why is my rig humming?"
"Because it doesn't know the words!"

Re: FM Transmitter advice
At home I can hear it around other frequencies but once I get out of the house it seems fine, Been driving around the area whilst scanning around and so far it's ok. Im using a 1/4 wave dipole at the moment but just tried a 1/2 wave but can not get the SWR down lower than 2.5, The 1/4 wave is given me 1.2.

Rich when you say "1/4 wave dipole" I'm assuming you mean each element is 1/4 wave i.e. the whole thing is half wave overall? I can't get my head around your observations otherwise. Just for clarity?

Hang about, this thread is titled "Transmitter Advice" and you've been given two very important pieces of advice (don't use Chinese TX or aerial indoors) yet you've just gone ahead with it anyway and ignored the advice, well OK then....

Reminds me of being a kid and doing exactly the opposite of what my Mum & Dad used to tell me.

The antenna is in the attic as I have no where decent outside to put it and the transmitter is all I can afford at the moment. I'm not in a position to spends hundreds on one at the moment. As for planes dropping out the sky? Hmm ok...lol. I have also been told my SWR will be high in the attic but 1.2 is almost perfect. You just do the best with what you got.
