I’ve seen videos were in the past were they would aim laser at a window, telescopic thing they made in their garden, saw something were someone used a solar panel to recieve an audio signal with much interference from the florescent lights maybe it was over infra red, interesting because its using light to send a signal. We are surrounded by remote controls, dosent take much to think they could be used to send audio too, over the same wavelenght. I did find it interesting learning about the electromagnetic spectrum, finding out that some of electro magnetic waves are visible but some are not. I did think about having a play around making an infra red sender a while ago, just to see how it sounds, I think i'll leave the gamma wave experiments to someone else.
I kind suspect, that in the past maybe lasers weren’t available, you’d be using a lense to narrow the beam width which sent the signal further, impractical to have it set up, the telescope thing does make me think of a christmas commercial, with a dog looking through it, maybe best left to them.

When we had noisy neightbours I became more interested in noise cancellation, its only possible using earphones, you would picking up the sound vibrations from the window, inverting it to match cancel out the waves, impossible to do with speakers, (the noise can only be masked) I suppose if you had flexable windows maybe they could do it, too far fetched, someone did try to make a device that attached to a window, I assumed this was taking advantage of people suffering an awful blight. …There are some speakers are directional too, I suppose is quite interesting as you can’t hear any sound if your off angle.. it couldn’t replace someone earphones on their phone though, it would have to outside their pocket infront of them for it to work. There was talk a few years ago everything in the home would be powered wirelessly, the efficiency of it wasn’t very good its quite sad, I though it was a pretty cool idea, a kettle can’t boil itself.
