Interesting thanks for the link on that SDR. Nothing here.
The dial is Glowing 88-108 , spin the wheel to light those Red LEDs , see signal needle rise.

This is COOL top listen to.
I was wrong about MW and LW, I own up.
Imagine how long the antenna would be 500M ? Or is there a special technique for LW to load and shorten. Maybe at side
of a farmers field 500m is long for a 1/4 wave.

I tried on the Ampthill and Milton Keynes SDRs, not heard. I suspect the LW 270 is collocated with Barney's SDR. I wonder why that might be? Perhaps the mild mannered janitor is really Hong Kong Phooey!

If you go onto that SDR and listen very carefully on 810KHz you can hear the 3rd. Nuff said.Time2Shine wrote: ↑Mon Dec 29, 2025 11:47 am Can anyone pick it up on other SDR's or is it a 1 milliwatt TX next to Barney's ?

That's hilarious, but you know what it's also fine, fair play having a bit of fun. No wonder he does not need a 500m long antenna.

Is this still on? Will give it a try but probably got no chance in this room, never say never though.
.....Heard WNKR around 2003/04 on 6.285MHz Short Wave, even called the number and spoke to Dave Barney on the other end had a good chinwag. Good to hear they are still about.

if not the owner likely get locked out of the sdr for doing this, I do think its a shame we don’t have as many sdr things as Holland, they really have a culture over there, lot are pirate friendly run by people who do it

I use those quite a lot so was thinking of starting a thread for them soon for interesting catches and to encourage more people to join their TEF SDR nets.radionortheast wrote: ↑Tue Dec 30, 2025 9:44 am if not the owner likely get locked out of the sdr for doing this, I do think its a shame we don’t have as many sdr things as Holland, they really have a culture over there, lot are pirate friendly run by people who do it

they even have record function, it makes sense as theres lot more activity there than here, I listened on the london dx thing not so long ago, seemed like there were always people around, suppose theres so many over there you can always find one with no one on it.

I also use the online TEFs quite a lot and I think it's great. Didn't like the look of the radios when I first saw them, but definitely a fan nowadays. Looking at the map on https://servers.fmdx.org/ it's easy to see where most of the interest is. I think the people running it are Czech, Polish and Dutch.

Seems to still be online today, I've been on it quite a bit over the last few days and it's a great listen. Did any of you radio sleuths notice the comment in the Bedford chat box saying you can also pick it up on this SDR: http://freeradio.freeddns.com:8075/
