Peoples fm

Post by radionortheast » Sat Dec 20, 2025 9:27 am

I had a dream about hearing this again, not been heard on fm since 2021, was the last of these type of stations i’d hear on fm, so nice to know its still going, I suppose it was not the type of thing i’d listen to, nice to listen for abit, playing all christmas dance hall songs through the online radio box. It did seem to go with the place, i'm not overly keen of Leeds

Nice one, I remember Peoples FM from when I lived in Leeds briefly back in the day... good to hear they're still going.

Not a fan of Xmas music generally, but if there has to be some then the Trojan Christmas box set is probably as good as it's going to get!

Yeah agree there looking through my collection, hard to find any that are any good, just merry christmas in clubland is the only one that makes it seem like christmas, sometimes christmas songs are just made for the sake of it, so the trojan boxset does a good job

I used to have relatives there used to go there or maybe we would be just going through on day trips, it can’t of been more than afew 100 meters away from were my dad worked it was mondo strong in his office. Remember getting an outdoor aerial fitted you could get stereo on the sony xdr, switching between different aerials seeing which was the best, I would do that with passion and unqiue fm too.
This is like some don’t cry for me argentina thing, it was on air through all the different era’s, when I had low power txers, I only got a weak signal on a ribbon aerial, we lived it was on the other side of a hill. But I could often hear it on my pocket radio, when we went through. 8-) Amazing it was there when I first started listening to fm, that it lasted all that time, when stations would only be around afew years, I suppose they may of been a product of the rave era, when that dissapeared they went too, maybe they started famlies and moved on.
