It was never a good idea to come from Langley on 90.2 with Guildford on. PB even added a relay on Englefield Green Hill at one point after moving into London due to the problems BBCR3 Guildf was causing on 103.6 for a little while.
....Also, car radio's have much better narrow reception that domestic home tuners so can usually seperate the two better but in houses would be a completely different story.

Sorry but what I am asking on this thread is the longest pirate radio station still broadcasting as a pirate (unlicenced). :tup

OK so this brings me to yet another question.

....Venture used to be Galaxy FM. I originally heard this on 105.2 in the earliy 90s (92/93) before it moved to 102.5. I think they split and started Venture and Galaxy carried on for a bit but is no longer with us but Venture still remains.

So my question is, when did Galaxy 105.2/102.5 start?

haha yes I know, I thought they deserved an honourable mention, they are still owned by an ex-pirate, Tony Collis.

Yes I hear you but "ex-pirate" is the main unfortunate. :rip

Centerforce has a bigger gap, was barely on for a year then come back 30 years later!

Yeah they did do some Centreforce sessions which was indeed on the FM band. I think it was Time FM. But the said station certainly wasn't still broadcasting on FM and just doing one night a week on the 107.5 station over Romford ways (I remember when it first came on test transmissions as Active FM). :offtopic

But now having a DAB legal licence like other ex-pirates does not count or doing one night a week on Time 107.5 for a short time. :tup

Since we've broadened the topic to include now legal former pirates we may as well mention Radio Caroline although they were never on FM baring a few days from the Mebo ship (doubt if that made it into London) and there was also the odd RSL broadcast. There was also a short lived relay c.1987 where for some reason someone in London decided to relay the AM signal on FM which must have sounded weird -especially at night.

As I've stated numerous times throughout this thread, I was only asking about pirate stations still on air as pirates and not former pirates now legal. :offtopic :rip :tup

It wasn't me who first brought up legals but even as a pirate Caroline had a good run 1964-90 with a few breaks.

And while they (as a pirate) didn't actualky broadcast FROM London they did have a London office for a while (then again so did Radio Luxembourg) !

Even before that..... RFL (Radio Free London) first broadcast on MW in 1968 (for the first anniversary of the Marine Offences Act), and moved to FM in 1971 / 72. It was on / off for many years, and was last heard in the early 21st Century.

kool FM ? Been going yonks, but I think is now something else. An honourable mention needed for sure. They were very consistent, I did wonder if Ofcom actually respected them it was so consistent or turned a blind eye ? Either thay or they had a lock up room of gear ready to go day after day, raid after raid.
The dial is Glowing 88-108 , spin the wheel to light those Red LEDs , see signal needle rise.

No unfortunately not because they're no longer on FM and my only question of thread was for stations STILL on the FM dial today. :tup

.....Here is the thread for you right here, if you're not posting about FM pirate still broadcasting ON FM STILL AS PIRATE then please redirect yourself to here:   viewtopic.php?p=44619#p44619

Radio Free London. First broadcast in 1968, and was last on air on shortwave last month, still about.

Radio free London ran from 1968 to around 2002. Mainly on short wave and medium wave, but there were plenty of periods on FM too.
I believe it reappeared at xma$ along with Swinging Radio England and Radio Merlin, from the same rig on 6275 KHz.

I'm going to say Station FM. Consistent for as long as I can remember.

I see others claiming to have been on for years, when quite often they've had huge breaks in in that time. 35 years? Yeah but 20 of them they were off. 😂
