Haha, that was jokes  Never seen that documentary before, great upload.

I didn't realize the dti had a listening station in Surrey. Is it still there?

Also the guy that was called "Rebel", is that the same guy I am thinking from N.W (albeit with more hair  )?

The guys on the boat are the most crazy, their own version of an offshore station, seemed abit dillusional, in the year 2000 to say offshore radio was more important than land based radio, seemed a stretch. I could watch Flare fm all day, loud buzzing and smashing roof tiles and running away, I was going to watch Ideal again there was some pirate radio, this was much better.

Yeah he recorded a lot of London stations from out in Southend on Sea back in the late 80s / early 90s. A lot of them are on the Pirate Archive. :tup

Brilliant documentary, I was asking about this exact one on the forum a few years back, glad it s finally uploaded. Certainly enjoyed the bit about flare fm, never wouod have remembered it as flare fm though.

There was one other programme I wanted uploaded - it was probs aired around 99-2000. It featured flex fm, the only thing I can remember about it was buddy x (uk garage tune was playing in background ), some guys were mcing, they were tuning into their own frequency and a little bit about the block they were using. Cannot for the life of me remember what channel it was on. I do remember it was on late like midnight or later - possibly chan 4. Wonder if any of you guys can recall that one.
