I’ve been hearing a station on an evening, quite like it, play 70’s/80’s, I am getting a bit bored of am/fm listening, sometimes you can recognise the group but not the song, its bit like listening to a station of the time, bit like going through a time portal. I heard what sounded like dire straits, some songs you would know aswell, I heard ub40 song, euro stuff aswell, some of them do go on for 10 minutes.
Its hard to get id, it dose now again say something, something radio very bassy, with no other announcements, there are afew stations listed on 1503, don’t know what it could. I problalby would listen to online, sometimes it dose fade out compleatly but comes back again.

Re: 1503khz what is it
Interesting observations i only get a spanish station down south here and right now has quite a bit of talk on it. I thought that was roughly where that station linked with some island off africa was, 1503 1512 I never know if that is in or out of band and I bet some tx drift about all over the place so it can be a right mess on those frequencies.
Try listening in at exactly sun set time and you might get them stronger. you get a bump in propagation around sunset from some paths
and you might get them clear for 5-20mins over that window. worth a try.

Re: 1503khz what is it
I did actually hear some music coming in very low from the east about 9:15pm, won't be west otherwise it would be coming from USA.
Maybe from eastern Europe...I got the feeling form the signal when moving the internal ferrite rod around it was more likely stronger from slightly south east rather than north east if that offers any clues. Serbia Romania Bulgaria possibly even Turkey.
Looking at this page:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_E ... ansmitters
Might be Bosnian ? But likely Russian from Belgorod using 7KWs.
1503 Russia Belgorod 7 Radio Yunost
Russia Moscow 10-20 Radio Center / Radiotserkov
United Kingdom Stoke-on-Trent 1 Closed 2021 BBC Radio Stoke
Italy Trieste 1 Radio Metropolis
Bosnia and Herzegovina Zavidovici 1 Radio Zavidovici

As living near Russia (but not in Russia), I can tell that Yunost has no MW transmitter in Belgorod.
How I know? Around 2010 they used to broadcast some Russian UG house music on evening, and I used to listen it and try to find these songs from internet, not even understanding what did they say.

I can try to see is there transmitter on 1503khz in eastern block.
Edit: Try here https://www.mwlist.org/mwlist_quick_and ... 1&kHz=1503

Its almost 01.00 here, I arrived from work lately and did drink almost whole bottle of vodka, so my info has now some limitations.

I do understand what you mean about something not been on frequency, i’ve heard something that was on that frequency in the past, 1503 is close to 1500. Maybe it was fairly low in the backround, maybe some interference, I thought it could be a university station the music it played was simliar, songs from different eras. On York university they would play were love lies then do ron ron song!, i've not be able to hear their fm transmitter don't know if their trial has ended, listened to the Leeds one too online, they have no transmitter, wish they did, with something low power I could maybe listen on the online receiver in wakefield.
I was hearing something last night nothing before 7:30, on 1503khz, some 70’s funk disco, quite a bit of talking with fading none english, spice girls holla at 7:41, an 80’s song, some coldplay song 7:48, some late 80’s early funky number at 7:55, then compleatly faded out
I’ve been trying to see if it might this one Radio Metropllis the stream works https://fastcast4u.com/player/metradio/

It is radio metroplis from Italy, heard christina genie in a bottle clear id before 8 o clock yeserday, was the station I heard the other night, cool name.
seemed to hardly any skywave on thursday, yeserday had the dutch pirates on 1611,1620,1629, with auto seeking tuning locking onto 1611
