If that is the same HITS FM was it on 102 or thereabouts or maybe 100.x. it might have moved around a bit. Just pop music and a phone line. I used to hear it East side well. The VO was done by another person GS, but maybe he only did the VO. There was also something called The Music Machine.

At the time I thought both were Veronica Supergold related.

Nope - Boring Barry & Co ("Veronica Supergold") did run a secondary "Hits" station briefly. As I recall, it came from Walthamstow, so that was probably what you heard.

The guy with the 0898 lines found that advertising his services on the West London Hits FM was more effective than advertising in the newspapers or certain magazines! It was one of the few land-based pirate stations that actually made money!
