prevent possible damage on your 12V circuits from your main 48v PSU ( i have bad experience with step down)

Good work Rigmo, very useful circuit. I have experimented with a similar design with an old Watson PSU that had no over volt protection. I see you've added an extra buffer transistor from the TL431 to the Triac.
Give me a AM transmitter with things that glow any day.

final crowbar protection PCBs up to 8A and up to 25A. direct indirect pickup voltage protection. (main psu from or before after step-down) stage)

OK, ......so who else thought this thread was about using a metal crowbar as a weapon for protection? :)

of course, one should also protect oneself from excessive stupidity. hahaha
for example you have a 48V power supply and you need to protect the fans and the exciter pll ... everything works at 12V from the breakdown of the power supply step down converter...
there is also a solution to protect the amplifier from voltage surges over 48V
overvoltage Crowbar protection version 8A, 25A and 100A

Come to the UK and see how long it takes for your transmitter to be taken! Then you will not think we are stupid! :tup

bTON-uk - that is your reasoning.... not my words!
funny to you, it's not for me ... for you the first thought of crowbar protection is something completely different ... for me there is only one thing to protect the transmitter from burnout ... you resonate on other waves and I'm really sorry ...
yes, you have super abilities if you take down so fast or your just chasing your thinking? best regards..

I think you are misunderstanding me!

What I meant was, here in the UK, thieves will often take transmitters very quickly after you install them on a roof. For that reason, people sometimes put the transmitter in a safe to stop thieves taking it. They can disappear quite quickly otherwise.

I didn't mean to sound threatening like I was going to take your rig! :)
