Cheers Albert! :)

Its a great little circuit, Not at all perfect but it does the job!

Its a shame that DAB took the B3 spot! I would have gone for that as a link.

The antenna for B1 are certainly not ideal being nearly 2.5 metres long? The B1 spectrum is literally dead around my area these days so it gives my low power TX a near interference free space.

But yeh its a work in progress. :)

Some rough measurements of the receiver at work!

Below is the local oscillator tuned to 44.3Mhz (Ish) which gives me an approximate 55Mhz receive frequency.

Here is the 10.7Mhz Intermediate frequency which emerges from the Ceramic Filter.

The test was performed with both TX and RX terminated with a 47 ohm resistor, No antenna!

The amplitude varies with proximity, The 10.7 on pin 8 (IF OUT) is much smoother and lightly compressed.

It's also good to add a broadly tuned input stage (or an aperiodic, broadband one). You can then accurately match your receive aerial and feedline to the input of the filter.

A further refinement is AFC, which is good for correcting drift in the LO (and in the link rig too!).
"Why is my rig humming?"
"Because it doesn't know the words!"

Im not sure what you mean by a broadly tuned input? Receivers are quite new to me but im still working on it! :)

Any guidance is always welcome! :)

Hello Radium :)

Thank You for the squelch circuit you sent, A very interesting concept.

Strange i know, But i do have love of the 'White noise' I guess im getting old. :)

I do have a youtube channel but i do not post any of my projects in fear of attracting the wrong attention?

But never say never? I may just do that soon? :)

PS I hope you and your family are well? My thoughts go out to all those affected by recent events! :(

Thanks Radium :)

I admire your courage to do what you do for free speech! Here in the UK, I would probably get a slap on the wrist for radio offences!

Anyways i will try to put a video together sometime? I dunno which format? but i will see what Radionecks will allow? :)

Hello XXL :)

The PCB for the receiver is in Gerber format? I do have some PDF versions? It is a double sided PCB but it is possible to construct manually with a bit of trial and error?

I do have a prototype that i etched a while back which worked well.

I will post a pic to show what i mean! :)

The top layer was simply masked out during the etching process, then clearance around components was created using a 3mm drill bit!

The IF coil and Quadrature coil were hand wound on 'Skeleton' formers! Thankfully Enigma had the correct TOKO components to save me from this labour intense process! :)

They are like gold dust these days! I would defo recommend them from Enigma! The slug gives a nice smooth and tight tune! Not flapping about like a 'sausage down an alley' LOL

Lol flapping about like coat hangover on 90mph winds. Egnima are allright but only limited stuff they have. I like a website that would make me go wow so much selection spoilt for choice sort of thing. Just seems I only browse that site for a minute if it was like double the stock I would be looking at more but it is what it is I suppose.

Totally agree!

I guess it is a question of what you are looking for?

I generally as a rule of thumb go for the supplier who can supply quality and not price! I perform many repairs on customers equipment, mainly audio based.

I need to know that the parts i fit will work first time! Every time!
