RudeFm Back on 88.2

Post by biggiedan » Sat Oct 05, 2019 8:16 pm

Was picking them up on my way to Orpington on Thursday. Audio output is low and sound quality is okish, no RDS and the signal is half decent but reception is patchy in places with a bit of hiss on top. Checked it again Friday but was just a blank carrier. Was just out in the whip today and their back on with audio again.

Yeah it's often heard up near the north downs and even some southern parts of the M25, which is pretty good considering how strong Guildford's 88.1 is around that part of Surrey.

Caught a bit of Rude over the weekend. Decent station - good to see them back.

Maybe you can't get Rude FM because of 88.1, as mentioned above. ^

Possibly but I have managed stations from London that have appeared on 90.4 and 92.6 and are both only 1 point from BBC Guilford mast.

Maybe that's because they had a stronger signal then.

Dont worry, you're not missing much, it's back to a blank carrier (like its been mainly all year).

Its a shame really, I remember the good old days when they were absolutely banging! With the feedback on the mic and Evil B killing it! :tup

These were the days here! 104.3! DJ's Chillum, Choppa D & Mr T & MC's Evil B, Rudeboy Keith & later on Eksman, Herbzie & Blacka on a Sunday night when they moved down 1 to 104.2. Legendary station! Their signal used to wack out all over London too.

Yeah, they used to smash it out. I used to listen in Herts. When Rude split, Awakening and Rude were like two totally different stations in their production. Seems weird them coming from the same lot

I preferred Rude as well, especially with Dylan, Facs, Bkey etc. But they were just as inconsistent as nowadays when Ruud Awakening hit the waves. Must admit, Chillem and Syrus did a good job keeping Awakening running pretty much every week
