In what way will the new EU laws effect internet radio stations (or radio stations in general)?

We haven't had a socialist government in 40 years
When we did, we rubbish in the streets, intermittent power supply, unburied dead......

Socialists always spend money like a drunken sailor on shore leave, then tax the hell out of everyone when the money runs out and the economy crashes. It was a socialist government that took us off the Gold Standard in the '30s, devalued the pound in the '60s - "it won't affect the pound in your pocket" was one of the biggest lies ever told by a British politician - crashed the economy in the '70s, and again in 2008.....

That was just the first and most obviously egregious gross manipulation of data. Others in the US have also admitted "adjusting" figures at the behest of Al Gore...... There are also plenty of other examples throughout the "First World". It was a policy decision at Davos.

Burning fossil fuels has to stop - agreed. It puts all sorts of nasty crap into the air, and it's unpleasant to breathe that stuff. We also need to re-introduce fast breeder reactors - the closest thing to perpetual motion that we've developed. Don't believe the scare stories about nuclear power - Chernobyl was an aberration (as wonderfully depicted in the recent TV series).

We need to use all the falling and flowing water that we have available - hydroelectric power is remarkably consistent, reliable and completely clean. Also take a look at "pumped storage". I worked on a couple of these projects in Wales, and they're brilliant. They use the power (that can't be turned off) from the nearby nukes to pump water into an upper lagoon during periods of low demand, then release the water towards their lower lagoon - generating power - during peak demand. They were expensive to build, but they're completely clean, have little or no environmental impact and will last a very long time.

We need to do serious work on battery technology. The current "Lithium Ion" batteries are incredibly efficient, but burn fiercely when they go wrong, and use some nasty chemicals in them. There's lots of research going on at the moment to reduce the use of rare minerals in batteries - friends of mine are going the aluminium route since aluminium is the most plentiful metal in the Earth's crust! They're getting efficiencies around 55% of Lithium Ion, but expect to better that in the next year or two. Their aim is to develop a low weight, high power traction battery for electric vehicles......

Forget the warmist nonsense and get on with the useful research!

According to the Magic Grandpa / Piss-Stained Tramp, they "weren't Socialist enough"....

The most successful countries in Europe have centrist governments made up of coalitions. This has been the case as far back as I can remember (a very long time!). The governments can't actually do anything particularly contentious, so there's seldom much change. You get the Dutch situation - a high standard of living, social care where it's needed, little government wastage of tax receipts, low crime, and a generally nicer place to live.
