Love NRG and Innov8 are both off air presently..

Wonder how all this is going to pan out?

Hopefully Innov8 haven't opened up a can of Worms. Lol.
That's good to hear, I wonder if they became aware of it first and got to it first or switched off by another party?
I bet that thing was causing bad interference all over the place like the air band etc and the whole of Manchester wanted it removed. Hopefully they will sort the problem out and return, but by the sounds of it with this Innov8 radio outfit, it just seems to pop up randomly in places and move on to the next.... Well if they do then don't use this rig! :tup

It's all kicking off...

Was listening to 87.5 last night in South Manchester. Nice audio!

Not been on this forum for a while, lovenrg been pretty constant, good work. Music policy isn't my personal taste but its a station on and the musics good.
Heard the 101.4 thing, audio is a bit scatty sometimes. Right now to me it sounds like a carrier and weird feedback either side of 101.4 ?
87.5 is absolutely solid, audio is wicked. Where there hell has this come from. 4 (inc Irie very weak) stations in Manchester in 2016 on through the week? Haha.
87.5 is playing oldschool dance, there's a dj speaking , not sure if it's live or any IDs mentioned yet though. I'm quite high up so get everything well.

I reckon 87.5 is relaying an online station possibly.

Relaying a random selection of podcasts. Dj Slipmatt (SL2 fame) currently on air with an old skool selection.

That will be the Slipmatt World Of Rave weekly podcast, I run it on my online station. Sure I was picking something up in Leeds high up this morn on that frequency.

its coming in almost clear here! only get it with the aerial on the chimmney pot, aerial afew feet lower down I get nothing, thought i’m sure it must be a just a matter of aerial location, i’ve managed to hear it in the corner of my room on my tiny personal radio.

Heard something VERY faint in South Manchester tonight, not strong enough to make out what it is.

It's a fair point Mr NRG however the transmission was only a test with a view to possibly putting something on at some point down the line. Unfortunately having been involved with a couple of successful North West pirates I know all too well of the hassle and bullshit that goes with djs, schedules, locations etc. I'm not in the position i was 15/20 years ago. Other things take priority these days....... family, work, mortgage, bills etc etc.

If I'm honest, and I may raise a bit of debate here I don't think that radio has the attraction that it did when I first got into it. Back in the day there was no internet, Spotify, You Tube, Deezer etc and we as kids grew up with radio. Many kids these days probably don't even know how to operate a tuner. I may be wrong but I feel (certainly for me) the dynamics have changed. Whe I first got into radio in the late 80s a well known established Merseyside pirate operator (Bert Williams) used to say "I don't really see a future in pirate radio" and at the time I was convinced her was talking through his arse. Now I look at the band (and lack of pirate operators) here in the North West and think there's sadly some truth in it.

You only have to compare how many sations were on back then to now. Manchester and Liverpool had a thriving pirate culture back in the 80s and 90s, these days I could count on 1 hand the amount of active stations. Fair play and hats off to the people doing their bit and hopefully the stations that are on will cause a domino effect and inspire more people to get on air.

Legacy UK booming into Manchester where I am, although I'm 20mins away from the centre, up high. Remember speaking to 'mr legacy' years back now, good to see he's still about loving his hard style haha!

And yes Soundfm, the band is more busy on bank holidays from the hobbyists and the time for most nostalgia in the north west.

101.4 still on, not heard anything live though.
