Putting out a massive signal on 87.5 is just asking for it. If they kept to about 100w maximum on another freq Ofcom might have just left them alone.

They will be back soon, by all accounts they were looking to up the power! somewhat anyway.

Good luck to them! :tup

Just wonder how deep your pockets have to be, to maintain a constant service on 87.5. We all know what is possible - when it come to 'range' on this part of the band. Wonder if that reflects the amount of time you can 'get away with it'.

As soon as it gets mentioned on Digital Cry, that's it DOOMED!

....And it wouldn't have helped them making jingles to say "as seen on Digital Spy", they would have been straight on the phone to their good mates down at Ofcom and this is the outcome.

Digital Spy really do like to suck Global's dick... Any competition generates a thousand calls to their 'com buddies.

They must have been causing interference to get OFCOM out at the moment. Next time make sure that it's clean, and move it up 100kHz so that your deviation doesn't take you "out of band".

Next time a) don't use 87.5 and b) don't advertise that you're using it, use the "internet radio" excuse :tup

Sound advice but this station seems to have no intention of flying under the radar.

500w from that tower on 87.5, is itself a massive finger up to the authorities. And they're active on the net as well, attracting a lot of attention.

Now we're told it's game on and they'll be back soon with even more power.

This looks like a deliberate head-on challenge to the status quo of radio broadcasting, much like FreeDAB is doing in Ireland.

Will be interesting to see where it goes.

I don't think they're going for that route. FreeDAB was much more professional in it's handling of things, I think Fusion just wants to put a middle finger up to Ofcom. If they wanted to change up the industry theres better way of doing it. Never gonna happen though, Ofcom are more stubborn assholes that myself :whistle.

Also, didn't Fusion used to be on 90.2, now used by Citybeats? I think the coverage area was roughly the same.

Think the problem with moving up a 100khz is RSL's on 87.7, if they wanted to be heard across the country, if somethings on 87.7 some were else noone will be able to pick out them out on 87.6, so it won't be as bigger thing, as dxers in that part of the country won't be-able to hear it. (even been 200khz away in a city wouldn't offer much protection, but obviously I don' think it is about that) Just like uk raw think it draws a lot of attention to whoever is doing it and it must be kind of a buzz!.
