Hey, i'm a complete newbie when it comes to finding pirate radio stations. Could you tell me of any stations in Suffolk, and how to listen to them? Thanks in advance.

Or8 Zyn and welcome to the forum.. I don't know if there's any pirates in Suffolk but i ain't saying there aren't. All ya have to do is grab your fm radio and get your aerial as high as possible.. Them ribbon aerials are rubbish in general but are OK for moving around for the best signal when you've found something interesting.. Outdoor aerials are the best so get that as high as you safely can..Dipoles which are two poles mounted in a vertical position to receive signals from every direction and are fine to start off with to find a pirate... And if you can drive well, get to a high site near you and play with the radio which in my experience is a fantastic way to spend an afternoon.. I hope that helps a bit mate and sorry for going in to all that detail but that's the basics and i wish someone was around back in the late 80's to tell me all that coz i missed out on few pirates in Sheffield back then as I never knew anything like that existed in Sheffield.. Anyway have fun mate..

Maybe beaming south into Essex you may pick up 88.4 Vision and cyndicut 90.6 also maybe Choice 92.1 these the main ones I pick up around chelmsford & Colchester
there is Funky FM on 103.7 not a pirate but I don't think it will make signal in to Suffolk as BBC is on 103.9 there.

Try checking out AM especially at weekends. 675 kHz & 747 kHz for a start, also high frequencies like 1485 kHz & 1512 kHz maybe worth a try.

Rings a bell, a pop station in Ipswich. They were really blatant and got raided or something. Just Googled it...

Many years ago, we ran a medium wave job in Trumpington and an FM from a big tree on the A10 on the way up to Ely! One of the joys of being a student....!
