New episode is up, Dj Blaise, currently does Monday's 4-6 on Flex fm. Was on pirate radio a fair bit back in the day, was a good convo. Big up all the radio necks who've listened in so far, I gave you guys a shout out on episode 5 coming later this week!! :)

Why do people talk about True 100.2 like it was the best station ever ? Iv heard loads of stations that have sounded live like that and the phone line doesn’t stop. There’s hardly any recordings of true around and the only people who say it was any good are the station managers. Was it even on for that long ?

Well I think Freeze was the best ever (personally) but as with everything, its subjective and depends on the era you grew up in. For me I was a pirate fanatic from like 99 onward and I could argue Deja or Kool etc was the best (I don't class Rinse & Flex as they're now legit but Rinse are obviously clear of everyone lol) or if you were around in the early 90s you'd argue it was someone else.

Quite honestly, I didn't even like a lot of the music on True that much, much preferred Unkown, Passion, Point Blank etc as I'm a house head mainly, but I still respect True and the impact they had. They stole so much of the audience from Shine and Subjam and definitely outshone both of those whilst they were on. True was on for about 3 years solidly, as we spoke about on the pod; I cant remember them ever being off more than a day... then sadly they just got hammered so badly at the end, it ultimately died out. I think if you lived around East/North at that time and went out in those circles you'd know just how big they were. They had 2 or 3 rammed venues every week, events abroad etc. I've played on a lot of stations over the years and i can't think of many in my era, that were so successful in such a short period as well as being so consistent with their set up, their reach etc. not to mention the revenue from events. I rate them and was happy to be able to sit and discuss it all with one of the guys in charge.

Anyway folks, I've got some SERIOUS radio legends coming on in the coming episodes, not from True, so keep it locked to the podcast for great content I know you guys will love.

Oh and Episode 5 is out today for those of you who've subscribed, check your feed, a few cool pirate stories in this episode too!! :)

I've enjoyed listening to the two radio-related podcasts, can relate to quite a lot of what's been said. About to listen to episode 5 :tup

Thanks mate, as I've said before, the podcast isn't just about radio but with it being such a big part of my life, its obviously a central theme lol. And yeah, some proper legends coming on in the next month I'm really excited about, I'm lucky to be quite friendly with a lot of cool folks who've kindly offered their time to the show and I hope to do their stories justice.

Interview with the one and only Ricky D wrapped last night. Some quality pirate stories from his days running Ice Fm. Will be putting it out next week , but in the meantime a new one dropped this morning with a really good house vocalist.

Big up all the Necks reaching out and supporting the pod, sending me emails etc. You guys have been quality with the feedback.

Enjoyed listening to that one, and looking forward to seeing the documentary when it gets released.

Will you be having any guests from stations from other parts of London and the UK?

I'm sure at some point yeah.

Just a heads up, the Freeze documentary has been delayed. Apparently some even bigger artists from back then decided to get involved so its been temporarily held up whilst more gets added.

Episode 12 is up now, for all the UK Garage heads, I sat down with Brasstooth and discussed his life in music, from playing bass guitar for a band, to producing Celebrate Life & Pleasure and loads more stuff. Big up all necks for your continued support. More pirate legends interviews coming soon.

I've finally uploaded videos for the podcasts on youtube, this is the full interview with Ricky D: - Any plays & subscriptions would help out a lot. Got several pirate legends still to come in the upcoming weeks and over the summer.

Nice content on the last pod, interesting the raid that was witnessed, if that was the early Friday morning one around 2011, I know who was caught up in it.
