I queried Nomad on 92.2 with Ofcom, specifically why it isn't on their technical parameters spreadsheet and this response came back:

We can see that this station has been off-air since June 2020; our technical parameters only shows stations broadcasting on the airwaves. So if it's operating online, it wouldn't be shown here as this isn't something we regulate.

So Nomad is not on FM at all anymore, according to Ofcom. Anyone in Hammersmith able to check?

Yeah I wasn't aware either.

....That station was covering about a one point two mile radius so they probably realised they could spend a hell of a lot less by just being online and still have the same amount of listeners.

Pirate in London on FM and legally Ofcom licensed on DAB in Bristol. Got a lot of balls tbh and been getting away with it for quite some time now.

Eruption are on DAB in a few areas now, just gained N Ireland as of lunchtime today, so now have the whole of Ireland to add to their broadcast area. Plus Bristol and Cambridge.

With regard to broadcasting on FM, pretty much every pirate in the country is masquerading as a legal online station, with some rascal relaying it via FM who has nothing to do with the station! Not really anything different here.

Ireland DAB MUX is also pirate of which Ofcom won’t be bothered about over here. But yes the Bristol and Cambridge ones with an unlicensed signal coming out of London I’d imagine they would be.

The community station Nomad is now testing on 92.2 from Hammersmith Community Centre and according to Ofcom’s tx info sheet it's 200W mixed polarisation (100W each plane).

Music is Rap/Hip Hop, on and off with idents, followed by large gaps of silence. I've already heard a track with the F bomb and other words and lyrics I won't repeat that are not suitable for daytime radio.

I guess thats why Eruption is currently off air, but at first glance this Nomad thing is a waste of space!

It won’t ever be the same if it’s professional sounding. That’s the whole point of pirate radio.

Eruption fm was on pirate for years. I think some of those happy hardcore djs are still on there? Uplift the s one . I think from 1993? Until around 2012 was on fm . Something like that . I got loads of tapes from all of it. They played all sorts . I even heard 80s house and soul on 1013. What I’m saying now is there not meant to be pirate. So they need to up there game . Don’t want to be rude but some of the presenters are absolutely crap . Don’t want to start naming names on here . Yes there are a few good men still standing. A few good shows . But on a whole . I don’t listen 👂
Happy hardcore was a thing in London. So was hardcore . Jungle and Dnb plus load more .i remember about 15 years ago 1013 had ten ton happy hardcore Dj . Think he is on Kool fm now . I happen to like some old stuff like what vibes used to play on eruption back in the day
Me and Scott Devotion had one hell of a following in Essex (Premier - Both) (Lush - Me) (Renegade - Scott) during the early 00s. Happy Hardcore was well and truly alive
