I remember a lot of these pics from RP. The Dutch rigs make the others look like mecano sets.

Nice pictures mate there's some memories there!!
A couple of my old bits of gear on those pictures.
There's an old 150w Keith PA design which I copied but laid out a bit tidier back in 2003/2004, the original first edition RDVV8W is underneath it in its tin.

And my end fed I built with 1.1 SWR

:rip Y2K pirates. I might have some old pics hidden somewhere and if I can find them I'll dig them out the grave yard.

Were you the guys who fitted the aerial on top of that massive electricity pylon?

When you don't have many hills or tower blocks, you have to find other high places!

If that's the Ramsey Band II receiver, it had a ULN-series IF chip which gave wideband reception. The front end of the receiver used a bipolar transistor for a bit of wideband gain feeding into an NE612 mixer-oscillator. It also stole a DC voltage derived from the demodulator for AFC, so that the inherent drift in the VCO was compensated....

My really cheap Band I links (back in the 80s) used a really simple 1Watt VFO transmitter and a receiver with a circuit not too far away from the Ramsey, except that the receiver had a couple of extra tuned stages. The AFC on the receiver meant that the receiver would track the (slightly) drifting transmitter. With an old Band I "H" TV aerial at each end, and the TX and RX matched to 75 ohms, it was good for a mile or two.
