Infact, I have a similar filter built into my inverter socket! (Previously shown)

I think the problem with mine is the Inductor material? I used Ferrite!

Iron cores have a different Hysteresis characteristic to Ferrite!

Hopefully i will have some schematics soon! :)

Sinus - most of the 50 Hz filters use iron dust cores (not ferrite). Take a look at the "suppression chokes" that you can buy cheaply at CPC or Farnell.

Indeed! :)

It seems Iron based cores retain magnetic flux for a longer duration than ferrite materials! Which makes them ideal for frequencies in the 50Hz range! :)
