nrg kits 4w kit, parasitic oscillation at 93 - 94mhz

Everything technical about radio can be discussed here, whether it's transmitting or receiving. Guides, charts, diagrams, etc. are all welcome.

nrgkits.nz wrote:Is anyone who has an original pll pro iii 4w kitform they built up or obtained from somewhere able to test the power out at 93 and 94 mhz, or preferably look at the output on a spec-an if possible and see if theres a powerdrop and multiple spurs at said freqs. Note this is with kitform boards only, they contain a 4427 for the driver. The boxed units had a different driver and different matching to go with it. The boxed units ive tested dont exhibit this problem, however the kit boards with 4427 drivers do. Note this is with the 4w version only, not the 1w version. The 1w version still uses a 4427 but has different matching again and is clean at said freqs. From testing, the problem can be solved by replacing the bf199 transistor pairs with mpsh10's. Note the HFE also has to be matched to within +/-1. Im interested to see if anyone has noticed this?
Hi this post is old, however other people may have this problem, to solve this put a 330 Ohm resistor in parallel with the 2n4427 collector coil. (Power Rail) Should sort it. God rest Steve Moss, RIP my friend.
