Pro 4? Did that come from New Zealand?

I think I've seen just the PCB for sale from other sellers on eBay.

Andrew_kits used to sell the boards on eBay about 2 or 3 years ago, and they were decent. Gold coloured traces.

These used rotary type switches to set the frequency if I recall correctly.

Edit - I tell a lie. They were being sold over 6 years ago. How time flies eh guys! viewtopic.php?t=142

Brought the pro 4 PCB off eBay years ago. Been collecting dust since... it was just the PCB and no paperwork !

I supplied build instructions for the Pro4 to customers who purchased it from me. I designed the upgrades/mods for the Pro4 which Andrew Kits then just copied.

I have since gone on to release new versions, the Pro 5 and now the Pro6 - the Pro4 is no longer available.

If there's any built NRG PRO 3/4/5/6 available, let me know. Would be interested in a few boards, plus any PAs or whole built TX. Cheers

Not 4W like the NRG Pro3, but Zozo, a member of this forum, is selling some decent ready built drivers on here & they're compact unlike the old NRG boards.

Check the "buy & sell" subforum on here.

Shorty,

I was cleaning up my phone memory earlier & came across loads of old files from Katruud, NRG, & all sorts. Amongst them, I found the Pro4 instructions.

Are yours the same as this - https://docdro.id/udLpqdM

it is easy to assemble from the version 3 , not complicated :) with some experience , all the same principle. Also without any document .That sad to see again you have to tune manually the vco , where the pll part is luxury with rotary encoder , but the vco is manual and if the variable capacitor fail , it will sprog harmonics .

Nope. If the trimmer capacitor failed (very unlikely), the VCO just wouldn't lock, and there would be no output, because the Out-Of-Lock circuit wouldn't allow the signal through the drive stage. When Stephen Moss came up with that VCO, he made sure that even the most ham-fisted dingbat shouldn't be able to get it to misbehave!
