If I turn the levels down, receivers can’t hear the RDS in weak signal areas.
What makes you think that increasing the amplitude of the RDS gives you better range? :|

Sinus have have a software or a script that can take the nowplaying txt file and make it scroll , i saw andold software that make ps scrolling from a static txt , cause monrds accept dps and i can not figure it out from nowplaying txt from zara or other it is not scrolling , i saw a video where someone make a kind of script cambiar txt that can make the static ps be dps scroll show it is then shown like the RT
Hello Radium :)

I did find that newer version of the MONRDS software hidden in the archives of my PC and it says Dynamic RDS is supported? However i have never attempted to get it working.

As you suggest, Some kind of script needs to be running for functionality?

I am not sure it is much use to a pirate? But i will see if i can get it working.
thank you bro as always .I hope happy ending , a simple script can do , but i am not familiar with .I hope hearing good news the guy of this video is on youtube , but he does not provide other then lies JOGY...

What would increase my RDS level without turning up the RDS volume pot then ?

There is no need to turn it up beyond the point at which a receiver starts to collect and show the program.

I am no expert on RDS and i am not saying you are doing anything wrong!

Say? If you was a London based commercial station covering the M25 with plenty of power? Then your RDS would be solid.

The best advice i can give is keep your RDS data message short and simple! Scrolling or any other complex messages requires more packets of data to be transmitted.

Most receivers will struggle to keep up.

Radium :)

It seems that you can use the Dynamic DRT and DPS schedule if you have pre-planned show? However the times you set will be critical to sync with the music you are playing.

As for the 'Now Playing' script? I have yet to work on that one!

Just to add Radium!

If you wish not to be specific on tracks? (Song titles) You could set the DRT/DPS scheduler to highlight specific DJs and talk show times?

example

DJ RADIUM OLDSKOOL SESSIONS; 12:00 14:00

DJ RADIUM TALK SHOW; 14:00 16:00

Etc....

The filter is tuned to 55.784kHz with those values. To get 57kHz with a 22n cap, you need 354.4µH.

I used a 390µH choke, and two 10n capacitors in parallel. With the actual (non-selected) parts I used, my filter resonated at 56.998kHz.

It will improve the filtering a bit by being at the right frequency. You also need to turn the RDS level as low as you can and still get RDS detected on a variety of radios. If you don't have a deviation meter (and you really should!) get as many RDS-capable radios as you can find, and turn the level down to the point that they still all display your RDS.

Use your 470µH and put 16.6nF across it. You can make the capacitor up with a 15nF in parallel with 1n5. Bear in mind that your inductor will not be exactly 470µH.

You really should get an oscilloscope, then you can get your inductor and put capacitors in parallel until you get resonance at exactly 57kHz. If you apply a squarewave at 57kHz, you'll quickly get the feel of what the resonance looks like, and how being over or under the correct frequency alters the waveshape.

If you use your 330µH coil, you'll need 23.6nF

Sounds like old packet data bursts I heard on the scanner years ago.

Indeed Mixin :)

Like a sort of faint dial up sound or burbling?

One of the problems with these designs that i forgot to mention is that we are trying to achieve analogue signals from a PIC.

Being that it is a digital device, The waveforms are square and rich in nasty harmonics! Whilst they are filtered to a certain extent? They are far from perfect!

I will post up some test results on the spectrum analyser when i get some free time! :)
