Well done Santiago. Happy to hear you got the SWR down. Looks pukker. Looking forward to the next update now....think you'll be saying it's £5 well spent.

today I carried out the first antenna test. the board is pushing out 8 watts. I could only manage to get 4 reports as everybody is out and about but the furthest away report was 2.7miles away (calculated using good maps distance lasso tool) got a video of the report nice and clear,
the spot I used was only 100m up, the local area has an average height of 70m. just hung antenna from tree.

https://www.freemaptools.com/elevation-finder.htm

I find this quite useful might be handy for you to find elevation.

my elevation was 101m

its finding those spots not totally in the forest which is tricky in my area, there are spot much higher but potentially out of my range, will try more spots in the week

VGA to USB? Are you sure? It's more likely to be RS232 (also known as serial) to USB

Yeah he indeed means the Serial port and not the monitor port.

Was it 6 turns 40mm wide you ended up with?
How well did it work from the hill?
I'm thinking of making one of these instead of buying a J pole
