Setting up of a microwaves link

I managed to get the satcan to work (finally) on the Baseband output there is white noise.When I tune around there are whining high pitched noises ,is this normal ?Also should I adjust the screw on the Horn or the trimpot on the satcan when trying to get it to link ?
