Interesting Joy radio that freq rings a bell.. do you have any info were they from SE London by any chance using low power?

edit ... amazing !!! It is the lost station I was wondering about for years thanks for reminding me. I allways remember the slightly odd frequency.

I think I phoned them once and they said they were using about 5W and a ground plane antenna around New Cross area and the details check out. They seemed like a friendly bunch of people running that. Always nice to recall the past and be reminded. They got out really well for the power.

Imagine kicking back and chillin with a cuppa on a Sunday afternoon this tune could be on the radio......

There was a type of housey cross over rave type tune with a soulful thing going on as well.. this is a goody.. late 80's and early 90's was a hotbed of great burgeoning electronic music in many styles... your soul boy could be a raver and your rare groover a house person and your happy hardcore raver could like something else.... so much good music to discover and a dial rammed from 87.5 to 108 full of interesting music. Tune ID request >> ? wahimbaaaaa wabimbaaaa un wa yoooooyyyyy wahimbaaaaaaaah wahimbaaaaah like an african chant with a melody... bassline was...... de dade deda de deda de

Two classic well loved in the Scottish pirate scene.
Predominantly stations here play, Happy Hardcore, Oldskool, Bounce and Makina.

Call me old fashion, but this must be the most iconic free radio sound.

Around the Merseyside area in the 70's 80's we had the top of the hour tunes by

Atlantis by the Shadows (Merseyland Alternative)
Elenore by The Turtles (Radio Elenore)
Jackie Blue by The Ozark Mountain Daredevils (Radio Jackie North)

brings back fond memories of a couple of on-shore stations.

Maclean & Maclean - Dolly Parton's tits

Used to play this between two other songs and not mention it.
