96.0 Brighton

Something has come on 96.0 in Brighton recently, reasonable signal around the city but pretty poor as you start reaching just a few miles out. Haven't heard any ID or speaking on there, just a random mix of Dubstep, House, Trance and R & B. Any ideas?

I heard this last Sunday it's definitely a local Brighton station I had them clear on a hill in falmer that over looks Brighton.

Are they still on? I will try and have a scan when I'm back in the area tomorrow.

The audio was terrible and they are definitely only using low power.

....It was also in Stereo but sounded very bad and I'm pretty certain it's just a small Chinese rig running about 5w!

Haha indeed it does, thing is I think he actually recorded that from Brighton city centre which is where they were based.

....Here in Worthing I was only able to hear it using my roof beam facing east but it sounded much much worse than on that recording over here!

Radio 4A on 101.4 is what he's probably on about, they are from north Brighton but have very poor coverage and barely even cover their own city! ...And they play a very obscure variety of stuff!

He said it was on 106. something.. I could be wrong my memory is crap. He did mention it was rock and weird psychadelic music sometimes god knows what it was and another one that was relayed for like 15 years? from another country? forgive me I'm shit at remembering everything.

There's nothing up that end of the band 106-107 is all occupied by legal stuff, I still think it's gotta be R4A 101.4 going by what you described and I've been in this area for the best part of 3 and a half years so that's what my money's on.

The other station you are on about was FIP, it used to receive the French licensed station FIP from Paris via satellite receiver and rebroadcast it around Brighton on 91.0MHz until a couple of years ago or so when it got taken off around the same time as when Code South did, who are still about...
