Hopefully they'll start making spares for the older ones available again, too.

And, hopefully it won't look like that absolute joke of a "prototype"!

Looks like a portable hotplate that you get in shite hotel/b&b rooms! Fashion over functionality

The vinyl scene isn't dance music orientated any more, so barely any need for new DJ turntables, hence this is an audiophile table. The tonearm could end up being a separate entity that you attach and line up yourself judging by the lack of one on that prototype. The original 1200s were designed as hi-fi tables, and even the mk2s are used by some audiophiles although often modified to improve the sound quality slightly. Perhaps Panasonic is trying to capture that market by producing a table that has more of the audiophile features and flexibility that the 1200 mk2 doesn't have.

Some of us still play dance music on vinyl!

This "audiophool" stuff is utter bollocks. What could be done to a turntable to make it more "flexible"?

I don't know why they just don't continue the 1210. They've got all of the mould tools, just fill them with aluminium, paint or anodise what comes out and put it together. Simple!

They are idiots, it's obvious that vinyl appears much more to the DJ market than to the paedo, I mean audiophile market!

If they don't bring back the DJ decks and are just gonna bring those camping stoves out without any tonearm then they are bigger cunts then we all though! Rant over!

Bah! They never planned to discontinue them at all, did they?

All a stunt to sell new record players in a vanishing market!

Such a marketing ploy, they're obviously trying to cash in on the new breed hipsters. I've noticed 1210 second hand prices have rocketed too!
