I did hear this during atmospherics when I lived about 250meters away, I had this aerial that was pushed thought our waste pipe in the roof it would wobble about in wind, it did allow to pick up more things than the folded dipole thought on the chimney. I only heard it when there was a massive lift towards ireland, many of the rte stations came in with rds, it did seem abit odd station
