I hope this is correct...

Code: Select all

For a working example, see Figure 1.

Multiply your frequency by 10.
Multiply the result by 2.
Write down the result vertically on a piece of paper.
Referring to Table 1, write down the corresponding binary code next to each digit of the result.
Write numbers 01 to 16 down the page.
Write each digit of each binary code down next to one of the numbers 01 to 16 in sequence.
Place the exciter in front of you with the dip switches to the left.
Referring to Table 2, switch all of the dip switches to off and then proceed to switch on all dip switches corresponding to numbers 01 to 16 where you have written a 1 next to them.
As a check, use Table 2 to add up all the frequency values you have switched on and multiply them by 2. This result should equal your frequency.

Table 1 – Binary Codes

Digit	Binary Code
0	0000
1	0001
2	0010
3	0011
4	0100
5	0101
6	0110
7	0111
8	1000
9	1001

Table 2 – Dip Switch Positions and Values

Bank 1 Bank 2
16	.025 MHz	12	.25 MHz
15	.05 MHz 11	.5 MHz
14	.1 MHz 10	1 MHz
13	.2 MHz 09	2 MHz
01	200 MHz 08	2.5 MHz
02	100 MHz 07	5 MHz
03	50 MHz 06	10 MHz
04	25 MHz 05	50 MHz

Figure 1 – Frequency Settings - Working Example

87.9 X 10 X 2 = 1758

1	0001
7	0111
5	0101
8	1000

01	0
02	0
03	0
04	1
05	0
06	1
07	1
08	1
09	0
10	1
11	0
12	1
13	1
14	0
15	0
16	0

Dip switches 04, 06, 07, 08, 10, 12, and 13 should be set to ON, the rest set to OFF.

I got it going but the dawson ppl was so noisy and the half frequency was so strong. The bored is useless so stripped the coils and trash the rest.

Looks like some of the component values are wrong:

You can get it to work, but it is hard work. Even in the 80`s it was old. You need at least an oscilloscope to set it up. Bin it bro!
