Another crap sounding station Starpoint. Audio is shit, and the djs sound like radio 2 wannabe's. Another 2bob station

Shame about Starpoint. I have found out it is the same Starpoint I used to listen to back in the late 80's on 93.2 fm. They switched off end of 1990 to apply to go legal but after an rsl in 91 they failed and went onto sky tv radio. I was just a bit surprised it was the same lot from such a long time ago.

O that joker again Dubstep Shaney who tried coming on 93.0fm in London, but didn't have a clue what he was doing, even bragged to us about being in with Ofcom when he found out we were already on the freq in Essex+Kent. Not that anyone would pay a grand for that anyway. Melt !!! :-)

£1000
It's a 100w TX. Not quite sure how they got 500w but they might be doing it in peak max PMPO.

I sat in Hyde Park with my portable SDR setup yesterday. Using this bandscan and whatever RDS or IDs I could get, here's what I heard...

87.5 - UK Raw
87.7 - In House Radio
88.0 - Pulse
88.4 - Vision (Blank Carrier)
88.6 - Back2Back FM
89.4 - Citylock Radio
89.8 - Station FM
90.0 - Hot 90
90.2 - Point Blank
90.6 - Cyndicate / Freek FM - not sure
90.8 - Lightnin
91.8 - Live FM
92.2 - MetroLoveRadio
92.6 - The Rock 926
93.8 - Vibes FM
94.4 - Flames Radio / Street FM - not sure
94.6 - Kool London
95.1 - Origin FM
95.4 - Roots
95.5 - On Top? Not Sure, quite noisey
96.1 - S-Dance
96.4 - Surprise Radio
96.5 - Dem Radyo? Not sure, blank carrier, could just be a spur in the receiver
96.7 - Mess, but obviously a pirate in there somewhere
97.1 - Rock 2 Rock Radio
97.7 - Radio 1
97.9 - Divine (buzzing to the max, but the buzz seems to be pre-limiter and isn't splattering anything)
98.1 - Mystic? Too noisy to tell
98.3 - RJR London
99.3 - Select UK
99.5 - Venture FM
99.7 - Flex FM
100.3 - House FM
101.1 - Naija FM
101.2 - Unique FM
101.3 - Spice Radio 1
101.5 - Empire London? Weak, not helped by atmospherics
101.7 - Too far into the noise
101.8 - Bizim FM
101.9 - Beat FM
102.0 - Concious Radio
102.4 - Wax FM
102.5 - Galaxy
102.8 - Radyo Umut
103.0 - London Live
103.8 - Buzz Fm
104.0 - Muzik Radio
104.1 - Omega Radio
104.2 - Play FM? Just white noise
104.3 - Crystal
104.7 - Pozitif
105.1 - Agent Double 0 Soul
105.2 - Heart Of Love (mixed with Heart)
105.6 - Lips Radio
106.0 - Love FM?
106.5 - Project Radio? Too far back in the noise
106.6 - Mess
107.6 - Exposed Beats
108.0 - Devotion

The dongle wasn't working at it's best, so a lot of stuff was covered up in images and noise. I've got about 17 Gigs worth of IQ files out of it for the SDR users out there, stand by for those.

Impressive. What was your setup? Apologies if you've told us before - had a quick look through your posts and looks like you're using SDR# but what's the hardware and what antenna were you using in the park?

Dell Venue 8 with Win 8
NooElec NESDR Mini 2
Crappy wire dipole similar to one you might get in Maplin with no proper coax on it. It's just cable-tied to a tree branch and left swinging in the wind, which leads to signal and noise levels being a bit variable.

Not all the stations were strong either, a lot were weak, but surprisingly some still generated RDS despite the bad signals. Maybe the RDS is turned up too loud on those.

I think 106.0 would be touch fm as they moved there when Love FM switched off and VOAR went back on 94.0...

Is there two pirates on 97.1? Ive not heard Rock 2 Rock yet, down here its got southside radio on it...

94.4 is probably Flames, never heard street fm before. 95.5 would be ontop fm..

Cheers for this, I'll amend the list for a proper thread I've got planned. I notice I've left some of the non-pirate stuff in there too.

What does Southside play? 97.1 was playing an 80s mega-mix including 5Star.

i'm not sure is it still actually on? mind you i'm only guessing as the stream hasn't worked in about a year. of course that would not necessarily mean it isn't on but chances are it may not be. can anyone confirm whether it is or isn't?
